The Big Dog off Tortola

I caught a shot of this big, comfortable cruising cat (named The Big Dog) from Villa Jacaranda on Tortola. This catamaran is big enough to have three groups of people in separate seating areas while underway.

We just finished a weeks sail on the Big Dog last week. A great crew and outstanding food. Boat actually has only two dining areas, an interior salon with a wet bar and galley. There is also a table on the aft deck for outdoor dining which we used exclusively during the trip. There are four berthing spaces for eight passengers and another one for the crew. Great weather in June with beautiful water and anchorages.

Glad you had a great time. The moorings just called and cancelled our upcoming week on the Big Dog. It is broken and they don't have another comparable boat available.
Leaving 8 pax high and dry. I will never use them again. This was suppose to be my 3rd charter in the past 18 months. They screwed with the wrong customer.

Fantastic yacht with an incomparable crew. I understand there is a new owner who has put in lots of improvements from when I was there - and it was incredible even then. Highly recommend it! Hands down the best boat we have ever chartered.

Beautiful boat, WORST crew ever!!!!!! Captain Mike has "anger management" issues, doesn't accept costumers decide which island to stop. Went in a large group and had many problems with the crew trying to keep in the group.
Food was standard, not the gourmet level Moorings offers.

Above anonymous customer was part of a large Peruvian group that chartered several crewed yachts and bareboats. They expected the crew to fulfill the many roles of their servants/staff (nannies, maids, cooks) in Peru who they had left behind. However, fortunately the BVIs is not Peru but western civilization - you don't snap your finger and treat people as lakies. They left their children unattended most of the time, broke many things on the boat, and had no respect for the boat or the crew. Also, didn't accept a No from the captain who is responsible for safety. Mike & Stefani, crew onboard The Big Dog

Our recent adventure on the 'Big Dog' was a ten out of ten.
Captain Mike & Stefani were very professional.
We felt safe & at ease under their care.
They constantly went above & beyond our highest expectations.
Every meal & catering in between meals was of the highest standard.
We travel extensively ( 5 star & 1st class ) globally throughout the year.We do not hesitate to recommend the 'Big Dog' & her marvelous crew to anyone who is contemplating traveling in style throughout the Islands. We will definitely use them again in the future.
